It all started with mom.
Debbie King moved to Vail in 1974. She was working in a real estate office when they asked her to decorate the office for Christmas — and she discovered she had a gift for it.
Before long, friends and neighbors were asking too, and what started as a home-based flower service became a full-scale custom holiday decorating business.
For 45 years, Debbie poured her heart into every home, hotel lobby, restaurant, and shop she decorated.
Now, Leala and Thomas are carrying on the torch. We grew up watching Mom create holiday magic, and we're bringing that same warmth and personal attention into a new generation. Thomas's background in film art and production brings a creative eye, and we're pushing into more custom design and bespoke decor, while keeping everything that made BloomingVails special in the first place.
Mom's still around to introduce us to all her beloved customers. Some of them have been with us for decades.
By 1980, BloomingVails was official. We are the first professional Christmas decorating service in the Vail Valley.
Always a family business, BloomingVails grew as the family did. When Debbie and Tommy got married in Beaver Creek 1988, Tommy became Elf #1.
Soon, Miah and Leala were coming along to every job too.
